It is with great sadness we have to report the passing of former Nansen and Wilberforce Housemistress Judy Barham on Wednesday 27th November.

"Miss Roe" (as she was known prior to meeting future husband John in the Island School Staff Room) arrived in Hong Kong in 1975 to take up a post at Island School where she taught Geography, French, RE and PE up until retirement in 1999.  She, John, and boys Peter and Mark returned to the UK to live in Norfolk.

Judy was a keen vocalist and could be found singing in the HK Bach Choir, Molly's Music Hall at the China Fleet Club or even the Island School Christmas play - including the 1976 presentation of "Oliver".

She also excelled at Hockey and represented the Hong Kong Football Club Ladies Hockey Section in the local leagues.

A memorial site has been set up here where you can leave messages, stories and pictures.

RIP Judy - you will be sadly missed by all whose lives you touched at Island School.

Judy Barham
