Message From Chris Forse on his Retirement
Friday, 21 December 2007
Dear former students and colleagues, I retire from the ESF on Friday 21st December after 33.3 years (100 school terms) including nearly 31 years at Island School and will be returning, with Melanie, to the Stratford upon Avon area in England. It has been a privilege to work with you all over the years, and hope you enjoyed working with me. I do not believe I could have found a more fulfilling place to build a career than among the wonderful young people of Hong Kong. Their optimism, love of learning, humility, generosity and enthusiasm made it, for me, a ‘teacher’s heaven’. I have just visited Island School for their end of term assembly and assured them that no matter where I am, and where they are, the Forse will always be with them. This is true for all Islanders. If any of you wish to purchase my personal history of Island School, No Ordinary School, it is available at Island School and can be ordered on line. For a few weeks I will be in Hong Kong to autograph your copy. Please keep in touch. I would love to hear from you especially at this time of transition. For the foreseeable future my email address will be [please see Chris's Home Page for Information] Happy Christmas to you all. Stay in touch. Chris Forse
